In this case a tumor invades the proximal trachea.

Treatment begins by endoscopic resection combining laser with mechanical debridement. Large tissue fragments can be removed in this way.

The resulting tracheal lumen is adequate. A tracheal stent measuring 16 by 50 mm is deployed in order to prevent recurrence. Given the appearance of the lesions, esophagoscopy was recommended, although no tumor extension to this organ was ultimately seen.
